Publication Ethics

Indonesian Trust Health Journal is a scientific journal in the field of health sciences managed by Murni Teguh University. This statement of scientific publication ethics represents the commitment of all parties involved in the publication process: journal management, editors, peer reviewers, and authors.

This statement of the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications is based on Regulation of the Head of the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) Number 5 of 2014 concerning the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications. Publication ethics relate to the performance and work of scientific research in accordance with ethical principles in research and science. The management of the "Indonesian Trust Health Journal" is supported by a comprehensive understanding of the journal management as a form of implementation of the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications.

The Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications upholds three ethical values ​​in publication: 1) Neutrality, namely freedom from conflicts of interest in managing publications; 2) Fairness, namely granting authorship rights to those entitled to be authors; and 3) Honesty, namely freedom from duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism in publications.

 

Duties and Responsibilities of Journal Managers:

  1. Determine the journal's name, scientific scope, periodicity, and accreditation, if necessary.
  2. Determine the membership of the editorial board.
  3. Define the relationship between the publisher, editor, peer reviewers, and other parties in a contract.
  4. Respect confidentiality for contributing researchers, authors/writers, editors, and peer reviewers.
  5. Implement norms and provisions regarding intellectual property rights, particularly copyright.
  6. Review journal policies and communicate them to authors/writers, the editorial board, peer reviewers, and readers.
  7. Develop a code of conduct for editors and peer reviewers.
  8. Publish the journal regularly.
  9. Ensure the availability of funding for the journal's continued publication.
  10. Build a network of partnerships and marketing.
  11. Prepare licensing and other legal aspects.

 

Duties and Responsibilities of an Editor:

  1. Meeting the needs of readers and authors,
  2. Striving for continuous improvement in the quality of publications,
  3. Implementing processes to ensure the quality of published works,
  4. Prioritizing freedom of expression objectively,
  5. Maintaining the integrity of authors' academic records,
  6. Submitting corrections, clarifications, retractions, and apologies when necessary,
  7. Being responsible for the style and format of the written work, while the content and all statements in the written work are the responsibility of the author,
  8. Actively soliciting the opinions of authors, readers, peer reviewers, and editorial board members to improve the quality of publications,
  9. Encouraging journal reviews when findings arise,
  10. Supporting initiatives to reduce research and publication misconduct by requiring authors to attach an Ethics Clearance form approved by the Ethics Clearance Committee,
  11. Supporting initiatives to educate researchers about publication ethics,
  12. Reviewing the effects of publication policies on the attitudes of authors and peer reviewers and revising them to increase accountability and minimize errors,
  13. Maintaining an open mind to new opinions or perspectives from others that may contradict personal opinions,
  14. Not defending one's own opinions, those of the author, or those of a third party, which could result in an unobjective decision,
  15. Encouraging authors/writers to improve their written work until it is suitable for publication.

 

Duties and Responsibilities of a Reviewer:

  1. Receives assignments from the editor to review written works and submits the results of the review to the editor, as a basis for determining the suitability of a written work for publication.
  2. Writes are reviewed in a timely manner in accordance with the publication's style and scientific principles (data collection methods, authorship, conclusions, etc.).
  3. Re-reviews revised written works in accordance with established standards.
  4. Maintains author privacy by not disseminating corrections, suggestions, and recommendations.

 

Author Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure that those listed as authors meet the criteria for authorship.
  2. Be collectively responsible for the work and content of the article, including methods, analysis, calculations, and details.
  3. State the source of resources (including funding), both directly and indirectly.
  4. Explain the limitations of the research.
  5. Respond to comments made by peer reviewers in a professional and timely manner.
  6. Inform the editor if you intend to withdraw your work.
  7. State that the work submitted for publication is original, has not been published elsewhere in any language, and is not currently being submitted to another publisher.
